Announcement April Fools 2014 - BYC Sponsored Study: Increase Chicken Broodiness By Up To 48% With Aluminum Foil

So if estradial (estrogen) is excreted through a hen's feathers, then men (and boys) should not play with hens or else....................

This could go both ways now that I think of it....
So we may, sometimes in the future, see incidents where people are caught rubbing themselves with barnyard fowl ?

Why do you think that many cloak themselves in feathers?

Oh good. A solution for my too many eggs not enough bro orders dilemma
I have three off our boxes FULL and I keep having to take eggs out. No one is sitting! I usually have ducklings by now. Every time I see a hen in a box I get a little surge of excitement.....only to find a chicken egg later.
I have one ambitious bantam roo and I have many many fertile duck eggs, and I placed a goose egg in two boxes.....I will do this to the goose as well. Most of my chickens are large so watching the roo is hysterical, but who knows if it was a success. Each box has two bantam eggs a few chicken and a ton of duck. It will be an interesting hatch, especially witha goose egg tossed in.

That is great! I am going to try this theory as soon as I can trick my hen into laying in the nesting box. I believe she is afraid. I will put one of her eggs in it to see if that works. I wonder if this foil will make her go broody before laying her clutch?
