APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Day 15 today. Kind of been reigning in the hatching emotions this week...bator temps have been a little wild. I weighed everyone today to see how things are going and I marked the air cells. As far as %lost the group is at 13%. I have one egg that is at 16.9% that skews the bunch a little. I'm not sure what's up with that one. The shell doesn't appear more porous, etc. The air cell doesn't look super huge...maybe the starting weight was recorded incorrectly. Or maybe it's an overachiever. lol

And since you can't help but see veins when marking the air cells, I can report that 9 of the 10 eggs have very visible veins. I did look at #10 closer (the no vein egg), and the blob in there is small. It's not seeping or smelly...I put it back. I should probably remove it.

Set 25 eggs yesterday from my flock (easter eggers/orps etc.. nothing fancy).... expected hatch date around tax day, just a few days before easter!!

Glad to hear that your power is back on. Don't give up on the outside edge eggs yet, they may still hatch.

:(   Maybe they'll be ok, just a little behind?  Fingers crossed!

Don't give up. My power went off for nearly three hours once and mine were fine. They weren't even late to hatch. Other people lose power for almost a day and don't lose any.

Thanks guys! Day 11 today, rolling into day 12 tonight. I am just worried because they're 1/2 way done. The temp in the incubator went up to 100, so in a few days I'm going to lower the thermostat just a hair. This is good, right? It means they're beginning to produce their own heat?

I just set 5 Welsh Harlequin duck eggs this morning (5am), so they're due to hatch on Thursday, April 24th! I'm so excited :D
They're in my homemade incubator so hopefully everything goes well. I've had 2 successful hatches in it before, so I'm optimistic. :)

I'll join, I have an emu egg that is going to hatch the day before easter. so, I'm in. I'm using an Octagon eco 20. I set 2 other eggs at earlier dates. One hatched last week (that's him in the pics), and One is hatching as I type. I even have it up on ustream lol.

How fun!

Yesterday was day 8 for my Isabelle Leghorn eggs. I candled at day 3 and six had good veining (I only have seven since I'm using a brinsea mini advanced) last night I could see good veining in the seventh one too! 100% fertility I'm so excited. I'm close enough that I drove down and picked up the eggs myself. Looks like that payed off for me

Gah, I'm so nervous. I set near two dozen embden geese eggs, three dozen Muscovy Duck eggs and six serama eggs because I couldn't wait. Today I'm setting seventeen black australorp eggs as well as six dozen mutt eggs with questionable fertility. We shall see how it goes. I can't wait to candle some of them. But I'm going to wait at least a week
