APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

He's an EE...the ONE to hatch last year from shipped eggs we put under a super persistent broody. We aren't allowed roos, but risked keeping him into the winter to help our pullet integrate with the hens. One month ago we found a home for him with 19 hens. Good for him, but OMgosh I miss him! He had the best personality! We made a split decision to try to hatch out some of the eggs to hopefully get a couple girls. He grew into this: No, he wasn't a house roo, he was just in for a quick visit. : )
nothing wrong with a house too!if I end up having anymore boys I can't live without, he'll be a nightly house too as not to disturb the neighbors, lol.

I am on day 6 today. I went ahead and candled and WOW!! this might be my best batch of eggs to date. Out of 42 eggs- 2 blood rings and 2 questionables (they were darker than the rest and I couldn't see much). I kept one of the eggs with a blood ring in the incubator because it also had veining. It probably won't make it, but I'll give it a chance. I did disinfect my eggs with a bleach water and Dawn dish liquid mixture before putting them into the incubator this time. I might be doing that from now on, lol.

Day 6 of incubating my welsh harlequin duck eggs. Wow are these little babies looking healthy!

I have a total of 100 eggs to hatch by Easter, what was I thinking. I just put my first batch in lockdown this afternoon. 6 BLRW, 1 SS, 2 EE and a ? the kids forgot on the table without marking so I threw it in and it's going strong, pretty sure by the color it's out of my BO/Maran coop. Out of 11 their are 10 that made it alive and thriving, now for the waiting period. The next batch goes the 11th, then the 16th and the 19th. I candled them all tonight and only see 2 that are questionable, will wait a few more days to be sure. I'm thinking of refilling tomorrow a dozen.

Soon, my friend soon. Hoping for a great hatch for you. I am only on day two and I still look into the incubator like I am going to find something...LMAO. This is going to be a long 21 days.
