APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Hi Sweet I haven't been keeping up on the BYC very well
how are the chicks from last summer? how many since then? oh didn't you have a pox issue...how'd that turn out?

I haven't been on since my pox outbreak. It was aweful! I lost 2 grown Roos and 1 grown hen- the one that was mostly affected. Only 1 in quarantine made it. And the rest of the flock made it through as well. The 7/8 babies however did not. One by one it got them. It was heartbreaking, there was nothing I could do to stop them or cure them. They were just too small w no defenses. I haven't allowed anyone to set since November. This is my first attempt since then. I did buy 6 Cochin bantams but my stupid dogs got into the cage and well, you know how that ended. I have roughly 7 chicks due next Thursday ish. And these 14 this broody is on will be due the first of May. So we'll see how it goes. How about you?

Had to throw together something for the chicks and momma. Not bad for a first attempt and one days work ;)

Thanks lol my daughter wanted hearts on them instead of O's!

That was a good idea, lol. Maybe I'll steal it for next time!

well you know me there's always eggs in the bator and always something hatching...over the last several days I hatched from my own flock some of my Buff Laced Brahma's, now nothing is due until next Wed. and I'm already in withdrawal lol...
I'm sure sorry to hear about all your losses that's really rough...my tiny dogs can take down grown Guinea's and did over Christmas break when my granddaughter was here visiting...including my Lavender Roo Prince...UGH it sucks! I lost a 4 month old candy corn polish yesterday and I have absolutely no idea what happened no pluck feathers no blood wasn't ill to my knowledge...no one else acting different or ill!!! she just died!!

anyway I have African geese due Easter weekend, I'm incubating some of my gold laced polish for a lady that wants the chicks and my guineas just started laying so I'm "checking their fertility"

and next week my bourbon red turkey eggs will be here!!

so the addiction continues
