APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

I am on day 16 hatching chicken eggs. I was wondering if anybody can tell me how to keep the humidity up on the for the last three day. I'm new at this not sure how to add water when it is lock down time.

I heard that if you put sponges or a hand towel in your dish of water. Or if you put a fish tank heater in a jar of water that helps too

I like to use a wet sponge (new, in the package)
a soaking wet blob of paper towel works too

I like these options because they are easily removed if humidity gets too high. a small dish or cup of water could work too.
it is all about the surface area of water to increase humidity.

Hi day 18 on you want the humdity about 65.people say sponges but it never works for mr..I use one or 2 terry wash rags. start with one soak it in luke warm water and lay it half way open in the bator under the vent hole so y ou can add more water when needed..This WILL work!

Terry cloth works great! Also, if you have a ramekin, fill it with water that is as close to the temp as the incubator. Then you don't get temp fluctuation.

incubator question and I'm nervous.

I have a homemade incubator and am using the STC-1000 thermostat to control a 25 watt light bulb as heat source. I accidentally left the internal temperature probe under an egg after the rotation this morning about 8:30. When I got home about 5pm I checked on the eggs and the internal thermometer was reading 106 degrees.

I immediately opened the lid to cool it down and rotated the eggs as normal. Be it that this is day 7 what is the likelihood that they will not survive? What are the chances they will survive?

Thank you for your input.

I would tell you not to stress to much, I have had some very bad temp spikes and still had a decent hatch
