APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Well, I sold ALL the rest of my chicks and poults today! I have NO babies. Good thin more go in the hatcher Friday!!!

I did too. All the week and a half babies out the door today (save one I have a special affinity for). Full turner of d'Uccle mille fleurs in the 'bator to be candled tomorrow for day 7, slated for hatch Easter Sunday. And DH is thinking I should have a dedicated hatcher, so probably going to refill the 'bator after pulling clears this week with some Ameraucana/Araucana bantams. Guess I'm in for some serious chicken math.

My incubator has been running since Thursday to balance itself out. Humidity is 26% temp has been 99.5 for the last day and half. Tormorrow I will set 18 eggs, 16 of my personal "project" eggs and 2 easter egger mixes from my own backyard. They will hopefully hatch around the 28th. Then I'll set a full incubator of our backyard birds. This is my first time incubating, we normally just wait for broody hens but with the long cold winter they have been very stubborn.

Set 47 eggs on Thursday hatch day is the 25th I think. Fingers crossed!

No pipping or peeping this morning, but I didn't expect any early activity until later tonight. Tomorrow is the actual hatch day.

Its still too dark to go out yet, Broody had one out last night and another had pipped... I'm pacing wanting to go check !! Today is day 21 for the first five and day 19 for the last five...

It's hatch day for the five dozen barnyard mix eggs. Most are EEs. 42 have hatched so far and are so cute. Out of the rest, only six haven't pipped but it's only day 21! Pics soon.

Finally went to check...4/5 eggs she has had from day 1 are out, the 5th hasn't pipped, I'm alittle worried about the other five late comers, the air cells haven't dipped and if they don't hatch within the next 24-48 hours I am sure she will leave them.. Going to be away from the house all day tomorrow..

Do you have an incubator you can put them in if she does leave them, you can sneak the little ones back in under her at night for the raising.
