APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

MS..i am in a hatch right now where the last 10 days more or less the temp in the bator kept going to94 when i added water and went to 122 twice!! Like you i though all dead for sure.. NO...
Late by 2 days but i have 6 or 7 out and 3 more pips! day 24.... over half tbe eggs hatched or are pipped.

New Guys and Girls....
leave those unhatched eggs in til day
25.Lower temps often make the hatch late.

I got my second broody set up. She's a first timer so we'll see. I'm a little concerned bc she's setting on 15 silkie eggs. I think it's too many and I was/am tempted to discard a few. She seems to be managing fine, I can see partial eggs sticking out on a couple but for the most part they're fitting well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

how are the chicks from last summer? how many since then? oh didn't you have a pox issue...how'd that turn out?

I have one that pipped! I think wrong end but whole in membrane so ??? No blood!

About half of my cayugas are pipped but I am concerned. One of them pipped last night, first one, and has been slowly zipping. I have only opened the incubator to spray a little water to keep the humidity up. Now the pipped area has blood coming from it. Not a lot, but the cracks are stained. The duckling still seems to be moving in there. I have never seen blood from the pip before. Is this normal?

I set mine march 22 there hatching today will post pic this is my first time incubator eggs so I'm excited to have baby chicks my first try

it happens...just keep the humidity up ducks can take a very long time to hatch...it probably just nicked a vein

Rudy, the naked chick is now 5 days old and making progress by leaps and bounds. All others are doing well too.
