Araucana thread anyone?

It just seems older than that to me, but no if its only about two months then its a roo. A pullet will not be that pink in the face till 4 months or more in some cases.

Looks like the 3 we have will be a trio. The cockerel is splash looking, might be cuckoo and the 2 pullets are splash based, one has a deep red breast and the other is just muddy-splash looking but has a partial tail. I am hoping to pick up a tufted tailed black hen soon, her only fault is that she has thrown single combs but I can work with that I guess. If anyone will have any tufted tailed BBRs for sale at a good price, message me. I'd prefer to get them somewhat local but might be willing to get one shipped in

I've got one too that looks like its turning gold duckwing...another rooster too.

I;ve also got a big black roo that is getting copper around its neck.

There are lots of birds for auction right now on showbirdauction.com I know Cathy is posting a few, Ann has a couple up, and I have two so far and will be posting a few more auctions.

If anyone is interested before I put them up for auction I will be posting the following.

1) Brown red and birchen breeding pair. Double tufted rumpless brown red rooster that throws lots of perfectly tufted offspring and a cleanfaced rumpless silver birchen pullet. I am asking $75.00 plus shipping for the pair.

2) Cleanfaced rumpless red duckwing roo and 2 tufted and tailed silver duckwing pullets. I am asking $75.00 for the trio plus shipping.

I will have a few more pairs and possibly trios available, I just have to peruse what I have. I also have a stunning rumpless cleanfaced heavily mottled rooster that I would give to someone who was wanting to work on the mottling. Just pay shipping.

I will post the above birds on showbirdauction tomorrow afternoon. Let me know if you want them before they go up for auction. I prefer selling directly over the auction format. I find that you get to know a person a little better when you sell direct. I like that.

I am interested in the Ducking Trio. How old are they laying yet? Pics?

Here are some photos. They are 2 and 3 months old. I actually have between 3 and 4 tufted tailed pullets and 3 and 4 cleanfaced tailed pullets with this rooster and I would like them all to go as a bunch. I am looking for $125.00 for the lot.

Here are a couple pullet pics and the roo pic.

Dang they are cute. I really would like just rumpless though. Please let me know if pure rumpless pairs, trios, etc come up.

Lanae, I *love that Duckwing color on females. Good luck finding homes for them, you've got such beautiful birds. The price is excellent, it's the shipping that gets so dang expensive.
Do you know if 2 rumpless birds are bred together will I get 100% rumpless chicks?

Nay, not necessarily. Since rumpless is dominant, a chicken only needs one copy of the gene to show rumplessness. So if the two rumpless birds are heterozygous, that means their offspring may be 25% homozygous (always rumpless), 50% heterozygous for rumpless, and 25% tailed.
