Toward the end of the chick days at TSC my mother picked up a bunch of Dominiques and 2 little Blue Cochin babies. They are now a few weeks old and every single day seem even more perfect. And these are just hatchery chicks!!! They are HUGE and so fluffy you have trouble distinguishing between their legs and their body. Their bottoms look so fat and wide!!!! They are so sweet and cuddly. These are the most amazing chickens I have ever seen and I have never admitted there could be anything prettier than MY chickens before. So, is this how they always are? I am now frothing at the mouth wanting some. Like a million or so!!! I keep trying to kidnap them and she is making some awfully nasty threats if I even THINK of taking those two!!! LOL Oh, and HOW do you say it? Long "o" or short "o"?

I always say it coh-chin if that helps, lol! I have 4 bantam cochins from TSC and they are all poofy and 'perfect' too! They are just such pretty birds to begin with that I think it's probably hard for hatcheries to mess them up. I'd love to see pics of yours!

Pix plz

I have two buff cochins-got them as 7 month olds and they were very thin and sickly when I got them. Think they were just kept in a small pen all the time-didn't know what grass was. They are the sweetest and friendliest chicken I have come across. They were very fluffy when I got them but now that they are healthy, they are big balls of fluff!- I Love when they run with those "slippers" on (that's what their feet look like to me-like they have slippers on) They look sooooo funny running across the yard to greet me and get a pat on the back.

I will get some pics when I go to my mom's house (possibly this afternoon). They are just AMAZING little things!!!! I just hope that when I get some they will be that nice. I have never been so smitten with a chicken!!! LOL Looks like TSC just did REALLY good on buying these babies!!! Yes, they do look like they are wearing big house slippers!!! LOL

Give me about 4-6 weeks or so and I should be overrun with bantam mottled cochin chics (assuming all my hatches go well *crosses fingers*). You're just a couple hours from me maybe we can meet in the middle.

She is a cutie pie, anydayisnow!!!!!

I found a pic of one of my mother's on my cell phone. Sorry it is totally out of focus and blurry. This was a week or so ago I guess (didn't even look at the date on it). She was maybe 4 or so.
