I love the duck Uber.
We own a piece of property that has been passed down through our family. It’s a big area for the Boston suburbs and there were outbuildings and an in ground pool on it when we bought it. The pool hadn’t been used in about ten years, just sat there fenced off. My wife and I have been in a disagreement over this pool for the last three years we’ve lived here. We have five kids and I’m the one who stays home, so I’m not really interested in making it my full-time job to be on drowning alert all summer. I want to fill the pool in and open up the area for more yard space. Wife wants to restore the pool and use it. Wild ducks fly in and visit every spring and hang out in it. Now that we have our own ducks, the battle has escalated. Every few weeks this summer she sends some pool company to quote us on a restore or an awning for the pool house or something to further her pool agenda. And every week I open the gate and let our ducks swim in it to their heart’s content. I’m currently renovating part of the pool shed and turning it into a duck coop. The duck pond/pool war continues.
