are there any foods that are toxic to chickens?

I googled everything before I ever feed my chickens anything but a quality feed. That’s really how I found this site. I’ll put my 2cents in. Pasta won’t kill them it’s basically chicken junk food. I give mine some from time to time. Cabbage won’t kill them, straight up mine won’t eat it. They are spoiled. There are foods you should never feed them...again I looked EVERYTHING up. My fan favorites around my house are (in no particular order) tomato-fruit(the plant itself never!) cucumbers, any leafy greens, fresh corn, quinoa (mine only like the red) oatmeal, baby food mixed with oatmeal (warm in winter) so those food items work for me. Best wishes
PS....everything in moderation!

Do you find it flavors the egg? I'm always afraid onions and garlic would make the eggs taste funny. Okay for frying but not good for baking. Lol.
Onions are not good for them. Actually if I give something with onions in it they won’t eat them.
I have asparagus plants if for some reason they eat ALOT of asparagus it will change the taste of the egg. Or perhaps it’s just me (pysco) cause I know what they’ve been into. Dunno
Garlic never has changed the flavor to me.

Chicken need a VEGETARIAN diet. Plants and bugs.

Search Google. For one thing chickens cannot have Tomatoes, tomatoe leaves, citrus, onion, garlic, ginger.

You do realize "bugs" is not vegetarian, don't you? Chickens are omnivores and don't "need a VEGETARIAN diet." My chickens eat tomatoes all the time. I grow grape/plum tomatoes just for them. Cabbage is not toxic to them.

Your post is not backed up by any factual evidence.

I meant omnivorous diet. I was having a discussion about vegetarianism at the time and my talking worked its way into my typing.
Basically, I meant to get the point across that chickens shouldn't have a vegan diet.

Your post is not backed up by any factual evidence, either.

I have the right to my opinion. Nowhere on this forum does it state that I cannot voice my opinion.

my bird typically eats whatever im eating (vegan) but i get a little scared sometimes because i dont know if there are any foods they shouldnt have. is there anything they should not eat?
If you search this site and look at the prior referenced chicken treat chart you will see allot of good recommendation for treats, but this should be in place of a good balance layer feed, from my research treats should not make up more that 5% of their diet. Garlic is great (mine get some crushed garlic every evening with a little bit of sprouted grains and layer pellets), tomatoes as the fruit itself is ok, someone mentioned avocados when really the fruit is ok it is the pit that is harmful. Make sure you do your research and just don't take the random recommendations of others.

What is the safest for her to eat is a good chicken food, layer feed if she is laying(which you can't stop) or grower feed if she is young yet. Purina is a great brand. You might not want to hear that, but it's the truth. You say you love your chicken, so feed her what she needs to be healthy and happy.
