@Frazzled chicken tender sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit busy.
Here are the photos. I had not been checking their coops as well as I usually do, and so had not realized that they had come back.
If you have a wooden coop with cracks, please check them regularly everyone.
First pic is their hiding spot.

Thank you for the pics! I'm about to go inspect now, and spray the chickens with permethrin...is permethrin spray pretty safe for the birds? The Elector should be here tomorrow.

After seeing this, I may just burn my coops down and build new ones. *shudders*

If we hadn't spent a fortune on our coop (current lumber prices) I might be tempted.

Unfortunately not.

I think its safe, the dust certainly is, and I don't think it would be much different.

Checked and our coop is covered in mites! Sprayed nesting boxes and coop with permethrin, and only a few of the birds (had to chase them, then wrangle them while they were screaming and squirming and it was just chaos). But...the Elector is coming today and we are going to repeat the whole process on Wednesday. The broody hen that I sprayed with Permethrin still is covered in mites so I think I didnt get enough on her.

Make sure you get it on her skin...around vent, under wings, on belly, around neck.

I did, but I guess I just didn't get enough on her. I'm going to put the Elector on her tomorrow. I would put more permethrin on her tonight, but not sure if ok do do that 2 days in a row.
