Are these Wyandotte saddle feathers?

You'll soon be sure of the saddles.

This young gentleman of only 11.5 weeks when the photo was taken is now my jr. flockmaster and founding father of my Blue Australorps.

I went and got more pics of him. Visible emerging cockerel saddle feathers in any of these? It’s hard for me to see where one feather starts and another ends 😆 none of my other chicks have feathers that look so frayed.

The darker feathers are sex-specific saddle feathers. His feathers are more frayed because many lavenders have the shredder gene :)

If you put your hand or a piece of paper under the saddle feathers it's easier to tell the actual shape of the individual feathers.
