Are we BOTH barred rocks?

They are pretty, even if they aren't what you thought they were.

Sorry, those are bantam OEGB or a mix. No dominique or barred rock of any size ever had that body/feather type and tail set. EVER.

Really, ever.

While smaller than a standard rock, a bantam rock still conforms to type - including tail set.

For the good news, they appear cute and healthy.

If you want to buy a specific breed - reading the standard or at least looking at the breed pictures til it sinks in... helps.

Barred Rocks are barred, puffy and a much lower tail set, yellow feet, with dark fronts no feathers on em.

Dominiques also have a significantly different body type and totally different comb and are cuckoo not barred.

Not to step on toes...but I guess I'm not seeing the feathering on the legs? All I see is feathering down to the shanks. On the leg that's being held slightly up, it looks to be a dark color, but still don't see any feathering on the legs.

The photos appear to cut off before the feet (right before on the first photo, mid shank on the 2nd), so I can't tell if those feet are feathered or not. The feathering on the first looks to go down much farther on the leg than I've seen on non-feather footed breeds. I don't see a leg being held up?

If I'm not seeing the whole photo, it wouldn't be the first time

I tried clicking on each photo and zooming in and out, but the area covered in the photo doesn't change.
