Arizona Chickens

Might be hard controlling those spider's on a tightwad's budget. O.K. I just couldn't resist that, please forgive me.

The black widows wouldn't stand a chance against the Orange Guard. I completely saturated my coop with Orange Guard when I had a poultry tick infestation and the OG killed any arthropod that came in contact with it. I noticed that the spiders were especially susceptible. I wouldn't worry too much at all about the black widows hurting your chickens. The spiders have much more to be worried about. I just realized that you've been here much longer than I have! Welcome back!

Or you install a sheet of metal between your block wall and the coop and use a flame thrower (that sounds like the most fun to me)

All very good info - thanks. I know I should be a kinder soul to them but we had maybe a hundred when we took the old coop down!

Now, a flame thrower would be something my youngest could get into. I'll probably have to nix that idea though.

So nice to meet Scott...sk acres from Marana... he drove up for 18 hatching eggs and I sent him away with 33... great guy I also gave him some broccoli out of my garden, I've got to start eating it daily or blanche and freeze it
