JaneTora- Your Hen House is adorable. Just perfect for 3 hens!! You should get some eggs before the end of the year. No clue if adding light really helps or not, maybe someone else with exp will chime in??
Eleanor, Scraps and HoneyCake!! Love the Cutie Pie pics.
Quote: Your hens are beautiful. Nice pictures, too, by the way. I have the hardest time getting a good pic of my girls!
Janetora - I got my first eggs in the middle of December. They kept laying all the way through the winter without any lights.

Adorable! Thanks for sharing!
And, just in case anyone is worried to show their coop because it doesn't measure up, take a look at mine (on my page). It's as simple as it can be. Well, at least it's purple.
I love the color! And is that a teeter totter I see in the background?

Point well taken. I think it was Meg Moringa-seed that told me the same thing. I'm going to shoot for three boxes in a row at about hip height. I have roughly 48" of space so around 15" each. Any recommendation as to the height & depth of a nesting box?

Howdy Crazy! Welcome to the menagerie!
