I could use a nice silkie roo.... pm me if he's available ....
Has just had my suspicions confirmed. My Partridge Silkie is a roo. I heard "her" crowing away this morning. Very cute but its still a roo. I told hubby months ago that I thought she was a roo and he told me no no no......
BBQ and ale, what could be better. Maybe I'll host a Tucson gathering and meet some local chicken peeps.
I just finished mashing the grains on an IPA. I tossed about a pounds worth into the run. The girls are going apey over it.

This too was cute of my "girls" until they perfected their song:We'll keep you in mind if we do get rid of him, but I think we'll keep him for now. We're pretty sure we have a Black Copper Maran and a New Hampshire roo, also, so I doubt we'll be able to keep three of them. I want the other two more than the silkie, but everyone is awfully attached to every last one of the chickens. If we get rid of Partridge, we'll have to send his best friend, Splash. Then my wife has to get a few more Silkies and the cycle just starts all over. I'm honestly not sure what'll happen in the end.
Hopefully, he'll stay as quiet as he was this morning. The only reason I heard him was my wife opened our bedroom window and told me to listen for him. It sounded like he was trying to crow through a mouthful of water. It was pretty adorable.
