Arizona Chickens

My place isn't huge, but it's probably large enough depending on how many want to come.  I'll have to do some cleaning, but we could do it a week from today, Saturday August 3rd or Sunday August 4th.  Depending on the method for slaughtering them, I have an eyebolt in the crossbeam of my back porch or we can hang the cord from the garage door opener's bracket.  I have a couple of large pots we can boil water in for de-plucking and if anyone is bringing the shrink bags for storage, too.  Plenty of parking as well.

We're at 107th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, in North Peoria, so it's still a bit of a drive for some that were interested.  Someone better may be closer to a central location, but my option is available.  My wife has already said it's ok, too.

I am up in Peeples Valley, AZ but i will come. I really want to learn to process my own meat birds.

It seems that all my chickens are taking a "vacation" from egg laying, or have been since the heat started a little more than a month ago, OR they have found a place to lay eggs that I haven't discovered yet.

Anyway, the idea of writing on the egg is interesting, is that in pencil or ink, or marking pen?

I had been saving my eggs on a counter, but now that we have two roosters, I am getting a lot of blood and other things in eggs that are a couple of weeks old, so I had to start saving them in the refrigerator, but when I tried "testing" the eggs, most quickly popped to the top of a glass of water ....

So, is it the floater eggs I want to throw out, or the one's that sink?

The floaters.

I would love to attend, but August 3 is not good for me because that's the day my chicks in the incubator are hatching. I want to be there for that event.
