Arizona Chickens

@Parront When she first said she wasn't hatching again till fall, I about fell out of my chair from laughing.. I wondered just how long she could hold out, I think that she's a hatchoholic like me.. Hubby's lucky as I generally just break out the little incubator, 6 eggs at a time, but now that I've pretty much figured out my issue with the 24 count, there could be problems..lol.

:lau You have all of those broodies and your pulling out an incubator? Mine is still sitting empty.

:hit :hit My hospice foster passed today, about 4:30.. now I have to find out what I need to do, do I need to bring her back to the shelter or will I be allowed to bury her, had someone tell me that they stuff the animals in a freezer and then when the freezer gets full, they take them to the dump, I don't want that for her, We have a wash that runs through the corner of our property, the little piece of land that is cut off from the rest of the property would make a good place to bury her. Maybe put a Tree as a headstone for her.

All of my broodies are done, I think that the one I suspected gave up the idea, I've not seen anymore broody poo's, out of all the broodies I had, I ended up with 9 chicks. The 6 that are in my incubator right now will be hatching on the 2nd, going into lock down on the 29th. 3 blue from the main flock and 3 blue from the NN's. The 3 from the main flock might be going to the one lady that I hatched for before, I think she ended up with two Roo's out of the deal..lol, I think they ought to be old enough now to be crowing.

Your incubator is "empty?" why is that? are you waiting to collect certain eggs? I can't afford a trip to Phoenix right now to check.

Yes I am, and if I do decide to do another hatch, it's not right now. The Barnevelder's aren't back to laying egg's yet, and neither is Shadow. I'm not in a hurry, I can wait. I needed a break anyways. Besides, there's still 10 chick's out there in the grow-out pen that need to have their futures decided.

You can pay for private pet cremation, or bury her. So sorry, you gave her a lot of comfort though.
