It's supposed to hit 101 here! My poor chickens!!!

They finished putting up the chicken palace about 5 minutes ago. It is smaller than I expected, but really nice. Now I'll need to paint it.

I'm glad that they finally got it over there! You sure waited long enough for it.

Even down here it has gotten hot very early. Yesterday I had to give everyone frozen veggies mid day to heat. I don't normally have to do that until mid to end of July.

Well, since they are Leghorn's, the girl will lay egg's for you well later on, but there's not going to be much meat on that boy for you though.

I think I will try to sell them as a pair on CL. I have enough white eggs already!

We get last minute reservations from Phoenix heat refugees every weekend! They are happy even when it's 100, because it is hotter at their house. We got up to 95 the other day.

Two of the sons of the Bad Boyz drakes are in the refrigerator now. They looked exactly like their dad, a Golden Buff Cascade. Hell on wheels like him, already ready to fight the adult Buff drake for his ducks! One of them outside the netting fence. About a pound heavier, I only plucked one, and skinned the other. My husband does not care much for the skin anyway, but I sure like to roast them in their skin. 2 more next Tuesday and maybe the duck pen will get quieter!
It is a lot of work for 2.5 pounds of duck dinner, but I am retired.

I can relate to that. 100-F. really isn't that bad when it can get even hotter than that.
