I think you need 1 sq ft ventilation per bird, probably at least double that in the heat. With the door open, I think it should have plenty of ventilation. But I didn't think about he windows. A shade should be able to take care of that, thanks.

Good morning, hoping that if anyone is by the fires in Globe are ok? The dual blade helicopters have been flying over our house the last week refueling at the small airport here in Mesa. Here is our sweet guard dog watching me and her flock.
$35 for possibly spent hens? when I advertised pullets I put a copy of the receipt from the hatchery, with my address redacted out to prove the birds' age.
last I saw roosters were free, No??Have you seen the amount of money there on CL that they are wanting for even rooster's now, and some of them are mixed breed's?

At least in Prescott area, $15 for marans, $0 for some others. Not that I want a rooster but Whew!
One useful feature in ebay that CL doesn't have, is a way to view "sold only" ads to see what the item actually sold for. There are some ads that have been up a month, so you'd think that they're asking too much, but with a newer ad you just can't tell.I give mine away for free. They aren't show breeder stock, so no reason to charge for them like I have been seeing over on CL.

yes I recall up to $50 per laying, newly laying, almost laying and $10-15 per day-old.I noticed that those one's at CL seemed to sour up on the prices in the spring of 2020, when the covid lock-down happened and the hatcheries were short on chick's to sell and couldn't keep up with the demand.

I have noticed on Hoover's, they are back to their usual minimum of 5 birds per type/sex instead of 20 and total 15 minimum per order. Maybe that means some of the additional insanity is passing and the $35-50 for a "laying" hen will soon be over.
