@Geckolady You could always tell her that I have 5 incubator's over here, and that I would let someone have one of my two older styrofoam one's for free just to get it out of here. She would have to come and get it though.

The next time she brings up the topic of hatching eggs, I will! But...I'm not chipping in for her gas!

Ok, now back to a serious post. My 7 remaining shipped egg's are now in lockdown, and I am hoping that all 7 of them hatch.

I got up this morning and had my coffee, then went in to check on the incubator. There were 2 little eyeball's inside there looking out at me! 6 more egg's to go!

The 2nd chick is hatching now!

These weren't supposed to hatch until tomorrow, so the brooder wasn't even ready yet. I've been in there working on it, and now a 3rd chick has hatched! This breed is in a hurry to see the world!

Too bad you live so far, or I'd give you the 2 free egg's so you could let me know. Now, how would you make one of these contraption's for her?

I was watching another thread like that for awhile - hatching in bra - or s/t like that.

UPDATE: All are now settled in the flex pen - sooo much easier to catch them when they can't really see you...LOL.

I moved 3 of 5 cockerels out to the flex pen on Saturday. I have to catch the other 2 at dusk tonite. My DH built them a beautiful rooster coop for that pen. I used to have the Minorcas there but they only had an old plastic doghouse on the ground and a mini hoop house that covered their food from weather - 3 of 4 of them used to roost on top of the mini hoop house at nite. These cockerels have it so good.

I think Roger's son (cross between Naked Neck Roger and Wyandotte), is almost as big as Roger now at almost 3 months old. He is so much bigger than the other cockerels. I think he might get to stick around IF his attitude is good. I'm breeding for size so he is a candidate.
