Arizona Chickens

Yes, many people are lazy or irresponsible these days. You can see it everywhere.
Yeah I know. Even one of the boys that we have taken in so they aren't on the streets don't like to do things either. I have had to get after them over being lazy.

I know. That's why so many children are drowning in the swimming pools.
Lordy.. tell me about it ! Some lady put up this warning on a youtube short about how blue swimsuits make it hard to see your kid if they are drowning and SO many ladies went after her saying that it's because she isn't watching her kid close enough. BUT she demonstrated just how dangerous blue suits were while watching her daughter and I could NOT see her kid once she went under the water ( her daughter knew how to swim and dive)

Cut back on their rations. :idunno ,,, You work or help out ,,, you eat. I know it sounds harsh,,, but in the real world,, that is how it should be. JMO

I set up a nice broody condo for my broody hen - it broke her broodiness in less than a day - she didn't like the change in venue from the nest box that was literally a cardboard box on the ground with all the bedding scratched out of it.

So I'm back to just saving eggs I want to hatch soon. I've got my system down by now... 1) choosing best eggs,
2) dating and marking breed or cross breed on them,
3) turning over carton and
4) cooking/giving oldest eggs to dogs when not fresh enough for me to put in incubator.

I also relocated hens to the right pens and some boys are much happier. Have to wait a couple weeks to collect some of those eggs since they were with a different roo.

I have heard that hen's can hold a rooster's sperm up to a month.

Saw that. There sure have been a strange run of fires, explosions, cow & poultry deaths at farms, food plants and distribution centers over last 2 years. That with inflation is just driving up those food prices.
Land developer's probably want that land. Farmer's are being forced out of business, perhap's?

Here are my chicks meeting the others outside their run yesterday.

I agree with that 100%! It is how it would be in the real world. It's not harsh at all. I already implemented that right after you reminded me that I can act like that.
