Dang! So hot!Out of morbid curiosity, I decided to check the water temp in our shaded bucket (just before adding an ice-block)...
I don't think it had anything to do with tea. It does make you aware of what the water they would be drinking is like before adding the ice.Maybe they wanted to invite me in for tea.![]()
Haha. Yes, that was the point I was making-- the water was about warm enough to make hot tea.I don't think it had anything to do with tea. It does make you aware of what the water they would be drinking is like before adding the ice.

And the inner body temperature of a chicken is said to be at 102 degrees, so that water would not have cooled them down at all, huh.Haha. Yes, that was the point I was making-- the water was about warm enough to make hot tea.![]()
I have read here somewhere (BYC) that stated,,, " Chickens will dehydrate, and not drink water that is too warm. " So even if there is water available,,, it needs to be somewhat cool. And the inner body temperature of a chicken is said to be at 102 degrees, so that water would not have cooled them down at all, huh.
I mean those ladies always have the low down on what is going on out in the coop! So I think a good gossip (aka Tea) session would be nice!Maybe they wanted to invite me in for tea.![]()
