There is a place for sale in the chicken neighborhood to the south of us where I could have as many chickens and roos as I would want... and DW won't let us buy it.

Good night all!

The last pic with the little splash looks like she is passed out. It was so cold tonight I told my husband I wanted an Ecoglow for myself!

All this talk about dream properties. I drive past the ranch on Thunderbird just west of 59th Ave and I almost wreck every time because I can't stop staring and daydreaming. Imagine how many chickens and goats and farm animals you could have. I would be happy with even one of the pastures they have!

The aerial from google maps does not due it justice!

Thank you. They are good looking for sure. I would love to live on a larger piece of property. More chickens!!! Good to know about donkeys. My daughter has neighbors that have a donkey as coyotes run around in the neighborhood.

Good for mom. Sounds like  she has a good longevity gene. Not many elderly people that age have good health. ( I work for a cemetery) My mom will be 82 and has Alzheimer's and my dad died from leukemia 11 years ago. Enjoy every minute with your mom.

Thank you, we know we are are lucky. She is a wonderful woman. I just can't move away. She has lest 4 years left (there is 4 years left on a warranty and service plan). She dose have pain, but she believes the propaganda on cannabis, she was accepted as a good candidate for it. Help with pain and eyes (do to so many years limited for the eyes). Side affects in her cassette would help (appetite)'. She could be taken off others that very undesirable side effects when taken to gather. The Iron Lady will not have it in her house. She knows that no one in the house CAN barrow any of it, we are all trying to lose weight or maintain. If it became legal, like liquor, I can not speak for anyone but for me, unless they can remove the munches and in-ambition to stop eating I still can not enjoy any. My mom at 96, could reduced medications with a piece of chocolate every day. With out those pills she could live longer, but be in terrible pain. Why not at lest try it?

What oil do you burn?? For our outdoor oil lamps we use the Citronella oil. The other oil we use is yellow and it smells funny. The clear doesn't have such a strong smell however there is still a funky smell, out on the front patio.
Also, Suggestions on location ,where you purchase your oil?

NO 1 kerosene, in table lamp good light, heat, but it gives off moderate carbon to faire amount cabin if flame is to high. Cold blast hurricane lamps, not as pertly, gives better light and less carbon. Ever so often you have to clean the chimney, visible smoke starts coming out: 1, your wick needs trimming: 2, you are running out of full and you wick is burning instead of fuel: 3, your chimney is full of oily carbon and it is burning, you maybe about to have a fire. I like the smokeless and odorless kerosene, it is on average $0.20 more/gal.

There is cool oil, liquid paraffin, and lamp oil. Some is very expensive. I day or so a go I sued corrected, now I have to become a chemist and lean international turns. What ever it is made out of, gives a nice light, seems just as hot, no Oder that I could detect. Dose not smoke, 1,2, & 3. It is considered safer. That I am not sure of. These will clog your wick, it is best to be always half full. I put my wicks in a small net bag and wash them in the washer and keep using them.

FYI: At one time kerosene had no standards. Benzene, and other highly flammable, and explosive elements were add to kerosene to make it burn brighter and to insure it will even light. (It could be very crude) therefor with the additive, much to often it lite with a bang. Someone know they would corner the market with safe kerosene. They set the standards, we have several different grades of Kherson. We know what to expect from the product. There are forms of kerosene that are way to flame able. They have different names. There is more but this is all I know.

Love okra!! Clueless inspector.. Do ya all think by putting a light in for a few extra hours will help our girl start producing eggs. Since it is shorter days?? Their combs & hackles are a beautiful red now. Vibrant red. Date of birth 7-7-12?? Or do they molt first??

My mother used to put chili powder into their feed to start them laying. I can't say whether it really worked or not. They may have just been ready to lay. But, what have you got to lose? Try it.
