Arizona Chickens

Does anyone have carpenters savvy wifes or husbands? Hehe. I need an indoor coop built. Not sure if anyone saw but a friend of mine has three hens that are disabled due to a coyote attack. They need to be indoors and given specific care. Pretty simple build but id rather not mess it up. Im bad with carpenter work anyway. If your interested in chicks I can do a partial chick/cash trade too. Either way, got to get it built!

I'd love to help you out, but you are on the complete opposite side of town. By the time you figure in gas mileage, it'd be cheaper to find one of the ones off Craig's List that is located near you. If you're willing to make the drive, message me and we can work something out.

But hopefully someone closer is able to help. My signature has a link to my first coop turned brooder.

Buy a rabbit hutch or a dog crate. Simple and easy.

Arizonachickens anyone ask you for a demonstration on processing lately?  There was some talk of this a while back but not much since.

We've only done the one. DH took it to a friend's house who was doing one of their ducks. He said it was easy. He skinned it rather than plucked it. DH also is a hunter, so it wasn't totally new. He had never done a chicken before, though. I processed a rooster with azkat, but she did everything, I just plucked. We'll be doing the other cockerel soon.

None of the hutches weve seen are not cost effective for the lack of space they give them! They are in a big dog crate but she want something better to look at.

I'm sure there are people interested. I am, I just do not have any to proses, unless I decide to do not want to hang on to my 2 of the freeloaders to see if they will start laying. They are all sweet girls. I more likely want to trade with someone, Blondy and Bon, I'm sure they will start laying when it cools. I think Blondy could have laid an egg earlier before it got hot.

Id love to have a process gathering but I have the same problem. Tho I may have some lavender roos growing out soon.

Wish I could help you out but I just broke ground on my coop and that's gonna keep me busy for several weeks.

Hah good luck! Send some of that skill my way.

Ok, I'm going for it,
Bielefelders, German started in 197x.

Lemon Cockoo Maran
700

I'm going to up my bid right now $4.00 and egg. I have time yet on the LCM
The Bielefelders are 10 eggs at this time $29.00 + shipping. PM Me is interested in going in with me, it is a little high for me to go for 2 bids. 21 hr xx min on E-bay. If anyone is interested in bidding on them I am interested in buying a couple from you.

Now I have to get an incubator, any one has a used one I can buy. I will be getting one Monday. Any suggestions on what brand not to buy.

I like Brinseas. Kinda up there in cost but I have to have a bad experience with them. Good for beginners or busy folks haha.

The Breile are fancy looking, please post pics when they hatch!

UPDATE. I got the. LEOMAN COCKROO MARAN eggs. Now tomorrow I pick up an incubator. I didn't even put in a bid on the other one. Just do not have the money right now. If I didn't have to buy an incabator, I may have, maybe. . . . Not. :lau I'm not as bad as I thought. I can resist. 10+ eggs, at 6 or 7 each, if only 50% hatch, will you know the math and the odds. Buying eggs is Russian Roulette with 3 of the 6 chambers loaded. We'll see. I do not know if it is even Possable to candle Maran eggs. I will not know until 20 days after I get them,

If any one can lend me an incubator, that would be great, I will give you a chick, 50/50 a pullet. I also have 10 Mixed Blue, Black , and Splash Maran s. 20-24 eggs in all. I will have some up for sale after they hatch........ :fl I hope.

Please PM me, I will be leaving to pick up my feed tomorrow about noon or a little later, if anyone has an incubator I can barrow for a month.

I have been speaking with a couple people up north here but no one currently has any to process and neither do we. We'd be happy to do a processing day next spring when some of us are all doing meaties again, or end up with extra roos for some reason... I won't be doing any more myself until next year. I may have some silkie cockerels in these new chicks but I can't bring myself to cull a silkie.

I wouldnt be able to attend a process group (regardless of location) unless i was given a largely advanced notice. This would be to set up a day off and plan the day. My hatch is the 14th and as always, I will have a handful of remaining roos that do not sell. They would be ameraucanas, bantam ameraucanas and possibly marans. I'd be happy to offer these up yet they I cannot house them after they crow. If a party was willing to grow them until the date of the event I would pay for feed? It is also possible that I could bring rabbit fryers.
