Arizona Chickens

Crap! I come back and have like 6 pages to catch up on! Had a big snaffu with the laptop last weekend. Let my step daughter use it to check her email. Long story short - she used her sleeve to wipe off the touchpad, which I'm assuming sent a static shock through everything and toasted the hard drive... and my phone was connected by usb at the time and it wiped the SD card in it, too. I've spent the last few days trying to figure out if anything could be saved. Fortunately I backed up everything last December so I didn't lose all... but everything from the last 5 months, including ALL the pics I'd taken of my babies, are gone. I finally had to bite the bullet and fresh install a new operating system. So whatever I've posted here or on fb since the middle of last December is all that exists of those pics... :(
On the plus side, with this fresh install my computer is running like greased lightening!!!
Put the static Idea to rest. It was not the culprit. Your Hard Drive was not toasted, but damaged by Malware. You would not be able to install a new operating system on a toasted HD.
Whatever happened to your computer was just coincidence of the touch pad wiping.
Todays computers unlike older ones do not come with operating systems discs. You need to make your own. If you would have created a SYSTEMS IMAGE, and a Systems repair disc, you would not need to buy a new operating system. (most of us do not do this BTW :idunno)
An updated Antivirus Program is a must to have. I did say UPDATED CONTINUOUSLY/REGULARLY.
Your router needs to be set up properly also . They have a FIREWALL that is very helpful/essential as well.
Of course your computer now is running like Greased Lightning. There is nothing on it to slow it down. In time it will be burdened with more and more things that will slow it down. There are things that can be done to clean those things out.
Glad you did back up some of you things before. :thumbsup

- bet you are on the coyotes black list now! Glad you figured out the rooster thing. I'm not much good at eating mine but do. Those marinates look great. We use lemon pepper often but I'm betting we could use others as long as I refine it for my DH gerd/esophogus disease - no too heave on spices these days!

Well, I don't care if the coyotes blacklist me now. :lau They will just have to move on to another yard that has free ranging chickens to get dinner! As far as the marinades go, any of them can be adjusted to fit your tastes or needs.

Yes, and I still have too many boy's that will need butchering when they are big enough (unless someone want's to "save" them). I guess that I shouldn't have hatched out that last batch of 6 chicks that hatched on May 17th (my birthday). Those 6 are mixes that should be green egg layers (I think), since the daddy was a CCLB and the mother was my Splash Australorp. Anyways, they might get the crest for the roo's side, but lay more eggs from the Australorp side. They will be single combed without those puffy cheeks like the EE's have. (Daddy was the 3rd roo that was butchered)

@nicollee so sorry to hear about your svart hona gal :( I hope you're able to rebuild your flock with some new feathered friends soon.
@SMorrison7k the dragoons are really pretty..we have a family friend who lives totally off the grid there. I keep telling him he needs to get some chickens!
Well today the chicken baths were partially successful. The barnevelder is totally over it and back to being a regular ol hen, no broodiness whatsoever. The BO and barred rock kept acting broody and I had to go into town for a bit, so instead of blocking off the nest box I just put an ice block in there and hoped for the best. When I got home the BO was out in the run! She's acting normal again and staying out of the box. But the barred rock is still being a broody gal. I will try another bath tomorrow morning. I also realized today just how dense those feathers are...soaking the BO for 5 mins and rubbing the water into her underside, she still had dry areas of soft fluff when she came out! Pretty impressive little coats they are sporting.

Hi everyone. Our chicken flock has grown out of control. We have decided to sell off our Svart Honas. We have a gorgeous a group Rooster and 6 Mature hens that have collectively laid about 2 dozen 100% fertile eggs a week. We also have enough 3-4 month olds to make 2 more similar groups. If you would like to breed pure bred Svart Honas please message me. We will consider selling individuals but would prefer a serious breeder who wants a starter flock. Asking $200-$250 per group.

If you are hungry and want the "best tasting chicken in the world" according to the French, we have French Bresse Roosters at $10 each. We will be breeding those chisks soon so message me if you are interested.

We also have some Crested Cream Legbars we would sell as a group.
Hello. Not sure how old this thread is but I'd definitely be interested in a few Breeds, as well as hatching eggs. Thanks
