Arizona Chickens

The link turns into a video in here, didnt want to bother everyone with it ...the link on my signature takes you to it, but it's easier to find it if i put it here... here it is:)

Your videos are never a bother here! I like watching them even if I've already seen them before. I wish BYC would allow direct video uploads without having to post a link or go through YouTube.

Now the brown leghorn's bumblefoot scab is starting to come off :bun hooray for Tricide neo! I'm leaving it alone...no more impromptu tweezer surgery for me. I need to make up a new quart batch of the stuff for tomorrow...I meant for it to last a whole week but after dipping all those toes it got a little mucky and I figure it probably works best in clean water. All of the chickens were much more calm today and have gotten used to being in the little dip tub. I have a basil plant that is next to the tub that they enjoyed while they were being treated...basil buffet!

I'm glad that you are getting them all cleared up. Look's like the basil makes a good chicken distraction. :gig

Why don't you give her the link to your 360 video?
Ok watched it guys, I am not sure if it will work in my area as I have ALOT of trees in my back yard, I still think I will make a run to the horse coral stall I have that is emtpy and all dirt and put some trees stumps and poles for them to hang on, on sit on, their not bats, and see if that does it, they have sooo much coverage from the trees from above, the hawks and vulchers are not a threat, its the coyotes, so I will basically do what she did around the sides but the top is covered by a ceiling of metal tin and trees, hopefully that will do it...thanks though, did enjoy looking at it...:):)

The horse corral panel will work for the run. That's what I have for mine. Make sure the top is covered too because coyotes can jump high.

I've seen chickens on others videos attacked by a hawk even though they had forest tree coverage bc the hawks could rest on a branch then dive down, just a thought to put out there, but I'm sure the chickens appreciate tree shade :)

That is true, they are pretty sly when they are hungry enough. We have two HUGE owls that sit at night on our tree but they watch for the roof rats around our area...thank God...Hate them dang things, the roof rats!! Thanks...I should send a pic of the tree, it is so huge, prettiest tree I have ever seen....:):)

GOD I WOULD LOVE to get them, BUT the roosters I have are very VERY mean and kill any Rooster I put in there, I had about 10 of them thanks to my STUPID Neighbor who decided he didn't want any of them anymore, so my two roosters became twelve and now I deal with them remaining four that are sooo agressive with my females and the girls show the signs of mating them too much. I would love to trap them and feed them to the Coyotes, but I just can't bring myself to do it. The black Australorps are the best one the breeds and also are fantastic brooding girls. I have one girl, one supreme out of the three left:(,so I just call her supremey, and she just walks up to a nest even if it has one or four eggs in it and just starts to hatch... I love her...I really would love to get your boys, but I could not stand if they got taken by the coyotes or killed by the other buttheads. And they are young so my buttheads would bully them to death. so sad, OF COURSE:):) I could put them in a medium size hutch I have
........hmmmmmmmmmmm
Poor girls! There's a guy south of Queen Creek that takes unwanted roosters and rehomes them. Maybe he could take your mean ones and then you could get nicer ones? He's only on facebook, though.
Yeah, bullies aren't allowed in my flock at all, but I keep my birds penned up because of all the loose dogs we get around here, so they would be extra stressed if they were penned up with bullies.
So sad that you can't ride anymore. A year or two ago someone I know in Cali had her horse attacked by offleash boxer dogs while out on a ride. And the owners just stood and watched, but her horse was a tough little Icelandic and got a couple good kicks in. Fortunately the owners were caught later, but her poor horse had a long recovery after that. Nobody has any respect anymore... :'(
