Arizona Chickens

Anyone know where I can get some chicks? I have looked into the hatcheries and they seem to be sold out. Looking for more variety. Like I need more chickens. Lol

Banty size or Large? I suppose that you are looking for just pullets? I have 4 mixed breed pullet's that hatched on May 17th available. They are 1/2 Australorp and 1/2 Crested Cream Legbar, and should start to lay mint green eggs in October.

I also have some Naked Necks that are due to hatch on Sept. 3rd.

Near the Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino right outside of the city of Maricopa. These mint egg girls aren't little chicks no more though, and have been running with my flock. You won't have to worry about a brooder, heat lamps, and such. I have 4 of those girls, and will sell them for $10.00 each if you want them. @Michelle Guynn has one of the sister's from that hatch.

Do you have one of those fold up wire dog crates? They work well out there. That's what I put my chicks in as soon as they fully feather out. I have it out in my pen, and put something on the side that will help to give them shade, and something over the top to protect. Feed and give water inside there for them. That way they are where the older chickens can see them, but they can't get to them. After the adult's start ignoring the new one's, you can turn them lose with the rest of them, but watch to see how thing's go. Like I said, these 4 girls hatched on May 17th, so they are now a little over 3 months old.

So my hubby converted a dog house into a coop but then he built me a bigger coop. The girls go in there but don’t lay eggs in there. Thinking maybe I can block off the door and put them in there???

Yes, that should work, as long as they can still see each other, but the older ones can't attack the new one's. They have to get used to each other, and that way these mint layers won't be stressed by the time they start laying eggs.
