Sounds like some kind of blue partridge! Very cool. The new chick dried off and I moved it down into the brooder today. It has a fully feathered neck, and it like a silvery/light blue with darker grey chipmunk stripes down it's back. It's the first chick that has hatched out with this color and pattern, so I have to see how it feathers and grows out.
Thinking that we've lost number 3 out of the most recent hatch, set 5 to hatch, 2 were not fertile and so far only two have hatched. How do you know how long to wait before checking them? how do you check? They were suppose to start hatching yesterday, he's got a little under 1/2 open.
