Arizona Chickens

But I thought that a while back that you were wishing for broodies! Isn't that why you got the idea about getting those silkie egg's to hatch? :lau
That is why I got the silkies, but they aren't going to be as big of a PITA, that my main flock is.. broody Silkies you can pretty much depend on to do what they are suppose to do, Jill, Midnight and Cruella, would not stay put, not sure this one is either..

Why don't you try doing what @igorsMistress is doing with her broody hen?

Ok, I'll have to see if I can track it down, do you remember how long ago? I've made special broody holding pens, both in big dog crates and then under the grow out pen, broody Momma 1 is the only one I got a successful hatch out of and I think that was only because I moved her into her own coop and run.. which is now occupied by Charlie and his girls,

If BB is talking about locking my girl in I can post a pic for you. I'm using a piece of scrap hwc and bungee cords

@TinmanOut I am guessing they are indeed Ameraucana. They look poofy in the cheek and poofy under their necks. I can't see their legs to see if they are darker. Their tail pops also look more poofy. The true test will be egg time. Blue eggs!! But to have both cheeks and neck poofs is generally Ameraucana. The chick coloring is what I remember too but don't quote me on that because my brain is kinda gone. I have a few older girls who are true Ameraucanas and give me blue eggs about once a week or so. Maybe so, maybe so....

I’ll try and get a good pic of their legs quick...

Best I could get once I picked them up they pooped all over my hand 😅 but their legs are the same color as their feet maybe a little bit more of a blue tint this is the one with dots on its head as opposed to the one that looks more like a chipmunk

Edit: Adding a good leg shot I got while the same one was drinking (don’t have it elevated due to bantams but I dump it and refill it regularly)
