Happy Mother’s Day! Seems like one of our hens was feeling left out as she’s gone broody. We have the dog kennel set up and are going to try transporting her with minimal scratches haha.

What if a couple just appeared here and there?

i doubt that would work for more than 1-2 then she would notice... maybe after we get rid of a few roosters I could talk her into letting me get more hens...

Thinking about turning our shed (in our backyard where my dogs go outside at) into another coop and run... it’s got an attached lean-to with a concrete floor... the shed though doesn’t have any ventilation which is the only downside I see... it would be for meat birds...

Oven does the meaties much faster than your shed would

I hope the girls are using the cell phone and not running up long distance charges on the house phone.. , Apparently mine have been chatting around the wading pool, I suspect another one, she was on the nest when I went out about 4, she'd taken over Rose's nest, Rose is currently sitting on a empty one. I'll go out tonight, if she's still there, then I'll take Rose's eggs away from her, move Rose and her eggs to one of the grow out pens that is now for broody hatching. When I collected the eggs tonight I kept some out to give to the new one if she is in fact broody, she was poofing and hissing at me. I am trying to think of a name for this one, she's one of my Red Sexlinks I believe, so Red will probably be her name. I do have 4 new nest boxes in case the current nestboxes all get clogged up by broodies..lol..
