That's quite a variety!

Once you're on lock down, it's very hard to stay away! And once the hatching starts, those incubator windows are not big enough!

Well, he is in our run right now. He looked so healthy we put him in with the flock. The blue roo beat on him for about 20 seconds and then it was over.... now he's running away from the 5 big hens but is OK with the juvies who are a month younger.

He is BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Awesome!! I am so glad he got a great home where he will be loved. He seems like such a good bird I didn't want to see him go to just anyone. I can't wait to see how he turns out. I bet he makes really pretty babies. Please keep me posted and don't forget that he is not quite 4 months old.

Hi AZ folks!
Anyone in the White Mountains or Rim Country?
Best wishes for monsoon rains and bountiful gardens ... our state needs it desperately. The past week has been busy building "Romany benders" for the hens..... 8' cattle panels bent to make a tunnel shelter, stabilized with one rebar on each side ... covered with shade cloth and beach tatami mats . I place one recycled wood pallet inside the bender for them to lounge upon.
Tomorrow, i am doing a variation of a bender and Apache shade room... weaving plentiful local creekside willow cuttings in and out of the cattle panel wire squares. It should look very cool, earthy and rather picturesque. If it works, I'll post pix.

Thanks, Bryan! I shall post them by next weekend... in the midst of second plantings all weekend thanks to the first monsoon rain last night. This morning, the hens are going mad with excitement and their outside soiled straw is soaked... ready for composting. Did you all get rain in Hereford?

is anyone else having trouble posting? I am asking this here just to see if it works. I have tried to post in two other threads and it tells me I am not allowed

There are three out now. An ameraucana early yesterday and then a turken at like 2am today followed shortly by a standard cochin. The ameraucana is so darn lively she has pushed all the rest of the eggs to one side so she can play with her new friends. I see a couple more with cracks so I'll update again later! Thanks for asking!!!

Ok pic time. Right now it looks like 8 babies that will hatch. Day 21 was yesterday and this morning I had 7 out and one egg with a little crack in it. The rest of them had no indication, but I guess I'll wait another day or two and see.

Here are some pics of Uno. Our little overachiever. She hatched first and from pip to unzip to out of the egg was only about 20 minutes. Then, within about 8 hours she was running around in the incubator playing soccer with the rest of the eggs!

Here she is.
