Now the darned ant's are out there re-building the anthill's again and gathering up food after the rain.

I know I'm in a different area than you, but wanted to share what I do for outdoor ants in my yards/driveway. I also don't have fire ants, my ants are more domesticated species

I sprickle liberally BORAX onto the ant hills, It controls them,,,,,, at least my type of ants quite well. Of course the borax works only if it is dry, and ants get it on their leggs as they walk across it. They clean themselves by eating all the dirt/dust etc, off their bodies.
Borax is non toxic. It causes gastro-intestinal air to develop. Ants cant fart, so they pop.

They are eating up a storm and so cute to watch! They run around the brooder box in a group.

It works with my roo. He crows up a storm over the "intruder." That little white guy had better not mess with HIS hens!

Anybody notice how if you carry a chicken and walk to another spot she bobs her head like she's the one walking!!! I just named one Bobbie...LOL

Hatcheries vaccinate their chicks. Is this something I should be doing? It would be hard to stick a needle into such a cute tiny body.

they only vaccinate if you buy the vaccine, they don't do it automatically. and it's only for a few certain diseases.

@Geckolady , @springvalley123 is right. Since you got your other one's and they were not vaccinated, I wouldn't worry much about that. The 2 Dorking girl's that you got from me came from Murry McMurry's, and the person that I got them from told me that they were not vaccinated. I don't know about your Barred Leghorn's though.
