Animal sitting can be fun...kinda like being a grandma, all the fun without the long term work

I don't mind so much, as long as the vacation that they take isn't in the middle of summer when the temp outside is the highest. I always have to take a bottle of cold water with me then, and paper towels to wipe the sweat off my forehead.

Apparently it's spider mating season. I've killed three big ones in 24 hours. Big like 3" across including legs. Do not like.

I had to kill one the other day too. It kept building a web across the steps and railing's, and I got tired of knocking it down every day.

These were in the house. My daughter is arachnophobic so you can imagine... 11:48 PM *high pitched scream followed by shuffling and a knock on my bedroom door*

After I dust out cobwebs inside the house every week - I have to go dust them off the outside of the house too. We have a lot of Black Widows and Daddie Long Legs, but I've seen another kind lately with a red spot that is not a Black Widow.

I also need to put it on the schedule to dust cobwebs from inside coops and greenhouse. I usually don't have my swiffer out there with me.

Yuck. We have so many more types of spiders and Insects up here than we did in Phoenix or Tucson. As long as they stay outside, I'm OK with them. Certain species of spiders just seem very indoorsy. At least the widows stay outside... So far.
