Next summer will be back to hot again, like it is every year.I did feel a little chilly last night... oh my goodness, it's so delicious to feel a little bit cold and feel fall moving in f-i-n-a-l-l-y after the six months of summer he11!!! It's over and life can get back to normal - for a little while! Back to normal back to normal back to normal!! Wheeeee!![]()
That's why I enjoy the interlude so much!Next summer will be back to hot again, like it is every year.
Are you going to move then to a place that will be more comforting to you then in the summers? That's why I enjoy the interlude so much!I don't know how many more desert summers I can take. My body basically shuts down for 5-6 months. That's half a life lost every year.

Thanks...I sure love emYou have such a beautiful flock!
How long have you been in AZ? I know when I moved here as a broke college kid I felt that way a lot in the summer. I could beat the heat and moist swamp cooler by doing as much of my studies as I could at libraries and food courts. If you can get out and about in the summer it helps while your bodies learning to adjust to the heat. It took me years but I'm finally comfortable in AZ summer weather... you'll get there too! That's why I enjoy the interlude so much!I don't know how many more desert summers I can take. Glad that you didn't loose many. It looks like you have a pretty mixed flock of breeds, and some breeds will do better in the heat then others do.New pics of my flock. Most made it through their first Arizona summer without issue, Though I did lose 2 of the older pullets to the heat. In the end, we still have 38 girls.
The 2 we lost were a Production Red and a Silver Laced Wyandot. Another Production Red seemed to struggle, and lost most of the feathers on her neck, but made it through and is now growing those feathers back in.Glad that you didn't loose many.
