which one are you talking about....I was talking about the one with more white on him..the one where you can see your son in the picture too..I am not sure how i counted

I have a chick that seems stuck. Should I help it and how do I do that? It has totally zipped and has been in there all day peeping, but it doesn't seem to be able to get out. The other chicks have really rolled it around. We are about to take the dry chicks out and give the other eggs a few days and see if they hatch.

Will get pics of dry chickies.

The cockerel+ something buff, or a speckled sussex should be fine for the Aloha project. Him + something with a lot of white or black pretty much ensures a barred or black chicken.

Genetics...aahh. Chicken genetics, too HMMM. No idea where to start with that.
I know rats to a jiffy but not chickens.

I think most of the genes would be dominant and recessive, not so many co-dominant.

Keep it wet in there.

On my last hatch, I helped out TWO that hadn't even pipped. I could hear them inside but they were shrink wrapped, Candled and pipped them myself.

One popped right out and started walking around. The other one sat in the big end of the egg for an hour and then was out and about.
