However, a muffed (feather footed--it's a different use of the term in the pigeon world than in the chicken world) pigeon could have gotten loose and bred with wild pigeons; their offspring will have foot feathers, too, although not as much as the parent. I have found that the feather footed pigeons tend to not fly as well as those without the feathers.

Couldn't have been one of my blue eggs ,correct?

YES! It IS!!!! It's only the second one to hatch and I only have one brown EE egg in there, still intact. I kid you not. It is starting to look stripey.

Delurking to ask about Portulaca. I vaguely remember seeing something about planting portulaca for chickens to feed off. Perhaps in this thread. I don't seem to be able to find it now. Is this the variety you would pick up at Home Depot or some other type? Thanks. Hope all are well and not sizzling too much.

YIKES! Then it is out of my EE. (BWA X Splash Polish) under the BWA roo.

The EE has been sold, so that won't be happening anymore.

108 in my backyard.

C'mon September!

(But I am enjoying the overabundance of tomatoes, (red, yellow and grape) from my backyard)

I got mine from a pack of seeds given to me by a friend. It was marked as Purslane. I planted it all around my yard and the chickens LOVED it (too much I'm afraid). I have some plants that have escaped the chickens and they are in full bloom now. I hope to have seeds very soon, which I'll be happy to share.

C'mon September! You know, I could give you a really nice Armenian cuke to go with your tomatoes. Little feta, sprinkle minced onion, couple olives and some flatbread - party!

mclevinson, congratulations! Is this your first hatch?

TT!, I see your title has been changed to "Cooped up"? Are you locked in your coop? Do you have internet access from there?
