I think I'll get two NNs and two sex-linked red or gold Pullets. Some red broilers and the Cornish X. I'd like about 15 broilers.

I'm shooting for around six ( Yup, that's what I'll tell her, six! That's the ticket!

I've mentally boiled down everything that everyone has told me about breeds and temperaments and have come to the following conclusion...

I've no idea what's going on!

I want eggs, I want a great pets, I want heat tolerant, I want cool looking chickens!

I feel like Veruca Salt!

I think you have to mostly consider your first and last frost dates and factor that into your planting schedule. Oh REALLY Tracy. Want some of those red birds, do ya? Glad to see I scared absolutely No one away from the craziest chickens I've seen yet. But watching a little silkie ping pong itself inside the coop is pretty funny

I tried putting it's topknot in a pony, but someone took it out! who out there has opposeable thumbs?

if you are ordering from ideal, that where 2 of my crazies came from. but i also have 2 of the sweetest, loveliest, most precious chickens EVER from them! my russian orloffs

Laree ordered some for her project and had too many so i put a few under a broody for funsies and i love them. they are 11 weeks now and look like little owls.

I've never ordered from a hatchery and I was wondering how specific you can be with an order? I know you can choose gender but what about colors and such?

I did Squaw Peak this morning... took me 42 minutes to get to the top... rocks were still a tad slippery from the rain. We didn't get any rain at our house... looks like it just rained from Camelback Road northward and then it moved west.

Sold three Ameraucana pullets yesterday. 2 were clean faced so I couldn't use them for breeding and 1 was on the small side.
I took the broody mama away from the 4 surviving chicks that I got from Meg. of the four 1 is a TJ pullet, another is a TJ roo, the third is a Wheaten Ameraucana pullet and the fourth is a male Icelandic.

Kate has 11 of my eggs in lockdown, 7 ams and 5 marans. They should hatch today or tomorrow and I have a broody to put them under.

I've got to get out and take some pics of my birds.... some are a little dusty still....

All but one of my tomato plants are still alive, normally I start pruning them by now but they are still so big, green and huge I hate to do that... I'm hoping that once it cools I'll be getting more tomatoes. I ate a red pepper right off the plant yesterday and I was amazed at how sweet and delicious it was!
