um, laree, turn off the tv and make the boys do their laundry. they'll hate it, but it'll be good for them.
their future wives will appreciate it.
X2!
When Tammy & I got married we combined her three and my three. That was 4 teenagers and 2 young'lings. TV was a major source of friction
& sucked up life.
We (she & I - the kiddies were vehemently opposed!) agreed to turn off the idiot box. No cable, no antenna, just a (at the time) VCR to watch movies.
The results were miraculous! Cut way down on the fighting / friction & more social interaction. (BTW - that first year and a half of "blending the familes" was really, really rough!
)
We (nine years later) still have no broadcast TV or cable in our home. Don't miss it. Although when we go away together (anniversary usually) we turn it on for a a few minutes just to remind ourselves that we are not missing anything.
I am not contemporary with my colleagues - when they ask if I saw a show last night I have to remind them.
It took me several years to figure out why my students would start chanting Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry! whenever a classroom fight was brewing.
