We live out in the middle of nowhere on 13 acres. HOA says (me) that we need one more dog....LOL And chickens. And turkeys. AND lots of roosters for breeding!

Hi Mikey,

Yes do keep an eye on her, but is it possible she was dust bathing?

After a good bath they are indeed covered with dirt and will be laying all sprawled out looking all weird and this is normal chicken behavior. Or was she sitting in the small depression not moving for a long time looking lethargic and all?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Mine seem to get into some weird trance-like state while dust bathing.

OK - I'll stop the IV drip and take myself off the meds...

Very cool - we have some peeps here that have been de-chickened by their HOA's (Hovering Overbearing backsideH@!#s).

I kinda figured you weren't involved with that sort.

Boy, I thought I was busy! My dogs drive me up the wall, and I only have three!

My dog makes me nuts and there is only one of him! Although he sheds a chihuahua every day...

How does he know exactly where I'm going to go before I know?

Why does he lay down / stand right in the way every time?

I have walked out to the coop several times when they are free ranging and thought a chicken was dead ( with its eyes open) even when I ran up on it. I finally touched it and then it jumps and scares the pee out of me. I am sure it was taking a dirt nap!
