Anyone ever had to deal with impacted crop? My GLW Francesca is impacted. I noticed a week ago that her crop was huge and it felt like a rock. I gave her olive oil and massaged it a couple times a day. I got it broken down but she wasn't passing anything out the other end. Wasn't getting any better, so off to the vet. It was very large and hanging over her keel. ( won't empty when this large) He made her a "bra" to lift her crop higher than her keel. Anyhow, after two days, it didn't get better, so off to the vet for the day. He tried to have her regurgitate but she wasn't having that, so he tubed her with 40cc of warm water than massage and then got some liquid out of her. He tested that for infection which she does not have. No sour crop either. Anyhow, I learned how to tube her and flush her. I have to do this 2x a day. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I CAN DO THIS!!! I actually got some grass out of her today! yeah. Sunday, the vet tech is coming over to my house to check on her. LOVE my vet and tech's there.
***crop looks larger than her issue as she has 40cc of warm water in there, but her crop is big***
Seems my year has not started out well for my girls. I hope it gets better!
