I'm "thinking" about getting a Black Jersey Giant at The Feed Barn myself... can't beat the price... and I need shavings and DE and some game bird layer so maybe I'll head out there tomorrow afternoon.
I can't believe how many roos I hatched out over New Years and Ground Hog's Day.
I hope I get more pullets for my Easter Hatch.
I may take some roos out to the Stock Shop or to Pratts too.
I picked up my Blue Jersey Giant last night. She's quit skiddish I've got her in my arms right now. Trying to let her know we are nice and she doesn't need to be scared. I'm feeding her an apple. She's a little unsure of it and me![]()
Where is the Feed Barn? It's not the same as Mesa Feed Barn, is it? Also, jersey giants and brahmas are super big, right? Are they ok with regular sized hens? I'd like either one but I'm not sure I have the room.![]()

Thanks for the info! They are so pretty. Is yours full grown at 7 months? From what I've read about the Jersey Giants is the are very social and get along great with the entire flock. They are also suppose to be very friendly. They grow slow and aren't that great of egg layers but IMO big us beautiful and it's earn it's keep being eye candy)
Also, the 7 month old I picked up last night is the same size, maybe a tad bigger than my easter egger.
