Well that was a minor disaster.
I took some scrambled eggs (& bacon) out for the chickies.
I fed the big girls first (Like you do with a dog & puppies)
Then I took some into the grow out pen for the little ones.
My silly temporary set up necessitates pulling the wire back and kneeling down to reach the peepers.
The big girls were outside the coop watching (and drooling, ever seen a chicken drool?) the little ones play keep-away.
Whilst the wee ones were playing keep-away and running through my legs (into the coop proper) to stay away from their brethren, the big girls figured out that they could actually get inside the coop and get closer to the scrambled eggs.
Now I have 7 big ones in the coop/run with me and 3-4-5 escaped peepers playing keep-away/try-not-to-get-pecked-by-the-huge-chickens!
Every time I finally get one a hold of a peeper and put it in the pen, 2 more get out & one of the older girls get into the pen.
Fifteen minutes of Mikey running around like...
...well, you know.
