Arizona Chickens

Thank you everyone for your kind words on Francesca's passing. What a great chicken family we have here.

Happy to hear everyone's ill chickies are doing good.

Fuzzy- Blue Bell is beautiful!

Mikey- The Western Ranchman has Orloff's every now and again.

Welcome to any new peeps I may have missed.

If I missed someone, I apologize. Too much to catch up on.

My Shih Tzu has an issue with his eye. It is slightly swollen and closed. If it isn't one thing, it's another. I think he either scratched it (he likes to rub his face on the cool decking) or has something in it. He did this last July. I have his eye ointment and using the Clear Eyes. I rather wrestle with my chickies than him to fix his eye. Otherwise it is off to the vet for him.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

So, I have been working feverishly to get my coop finished, and as of today it's fully enclosed. How soon is too soon to put little ones out in their brand new house? They are quite cramped in the brooder and don't seem to need the heat lamp too much anymore, even though they're still quite young.

Yikes! What's going on with the eye issues?

I got to check out Boston's chicken mansion today (Saturday).. I love it. And he has one of the most beautiful Icelandic pullets I think I've ever seen.

I think I have dar's insomnia. I am usually asleep by 9pm. Or, it could be the 60mg of prednisone I am on for this migraine. Lucky for me I also have strep and the antibiotics make my stomach hurt so I haven't eaten a case of thin mints yet.

Here you go, Pics of them both. Although the color of the pullet is a little off... I should have turned off the light bulb of the heat lamp. Oh well

Yeah, the pic of that pullet doesn't do her justice... You can't see all the little nuances of colors that she has.

So glad I got to see the homestead.

Met a couple of folks from your neighborhood(ward) in the Temple that was there for Tenny's sealing.

They are all happy you guys moved there.

I have two icelandics that look kinda like that, except mine just look like they've been rolling in poo. No nuances there.

very close its day 25 and yes they are in the incubator 28 days
you can leave some to 30 or 31 days for late hatchers\
wish you the best in hatching kevs

Ok, I've been doing some reading but am still confused about the turkey eggs. I know some of you have experience with hatching them so I'll ask you all. It's a total of 28 days not 21 right? At the end of day 24 or start of 24 is when the turner stops and the humidity goes up? I thought I was going to be able to throw in some chicken eggs with them but now I'm thinking no.
