I am new to this thread and I am interested in the French Black Copper Marans. Can you give me some more information about yours, like how old are the chicks, pullets/cockerels, how many and how much. Thanks.

I did have some chicks but I recently lost many chicks due to a bad bag of feed from ATWOODS. Third bad bag. I'm done with that brand of feed! Lost about 60ish chicks. But I learned a hard lesson. Always dump your feed in another container and inspect before use. The large molded chunks were at the bottom. Other two bags where molded at the top. You could see the moment you opened the bag. Spoke with the manager but they were not polite about it. Now I go to the Cabot Co-op.

Uh oh. We're about to get an Atwoods here and I was looking forward to having more feed choices. I sure hope this won't be selling bad feed. They may run our little feed store out of business and then they would be our only place to buy feed.

Well, at least at first, our Atwoods will ahve all new items. In 6 months..... who knows?

Just curious. Did you store it in a dry cool place; in a trash barrel outside; or in the bag in a barn/building?

Actually Jim it was stored in my home. 2 bags were opened the second day I got them. My baby chicks are inside in the guest bathroom.

That food was molded before it got to me. One of the guys that works there that helped me load stuff in my car told me I was not the first person to bring it back. The Manager refuses to open a few random bags and see for himself or send the whole shipment back. That's okay. They have lost my chicken feed business. I will still shop there for other stuff. I love that store.......the manager, nice guy but not very customer service oriented.

Call the corporate office. 580/233-3702 and maybe they will do something. Purina recalled some feed last year. It happens.
