Im as new as they come!!! I actually haven't gotten my chickens yet! I spent the last few days finishing the coop and Im headed out to Little Rock to pick up two barred rocks. Im so excited and I hope the code officer next door don't give me any greif about it. Its legal in Sherwood but something tells me he might have a problem with it anyways. Im gettn butterflys just thinking about this afternoon!!!

I hope he is cool. If you don't get a rooster he will probably have no idea you have them. Our neighbors here are cool. We are legal though. We don't keep roos just to keep our immediate neighbors happy, but I hear roos from every direction in a 2 block radius. Lots of folks in NLR with backyard birds. If you need any advice or help give us a shout.

Mabey thats the trick. I don't wanna roo just for that reason. I was wondering if I was the frist in Sherwood to have chickens but there might be a dozen I aint got a clue about!!! He saw me building the coop and he don't have a problem with our pomawhawhas so I hope everything goes well. two more hours till Im off work......

I just got my girls! And talk about personality! It was sundown when I got them home and they didn't any problems figuring out where the roost was. I didn't get to see them go into the coop, but tomarrow is a whole nother day of chicken watching. I am going to send out an email to my friends and co-workers to Name-That-Chicken best or funniest name wins! One of the barred rocks is a lighter gray and a real prissy, the other is dark and curious. She was facinated with everything about her new home. I hope I can sleep tonight...
