Whoa! Somehow I got unsubscribed from this thread and I thought no one was posting.

Amanda, I only have two eggs left out of the five I got from you at the meeting. My big, fat BR hen broke three. I moved them to the incubator to save the remaining two. I have a pip in one right now!

OK, everybody, keep your fingers crossed for me. I am going to look at a trailer tomorrow to bring home and turn into a hatchery/brooder house. It is 20 feet long and old as methusala. I figure I should be able to fit all my incubators, hatchers, and quite some brooders plus storage for chicken stuff in it. Thing is, see, if the water comes up while hatching or booding, all I have to do is hook up to it and drag it over to my daughters until the water goes back down. It gives me somewhere besides the house and porch for all that stuff. Hubby wasn't too thrilled with the idea until I promised him it meant no more chickens in the house. Has heat and air, bath and kitchen.

We are about to get some mighty storms tonight. I put a tarp up over the girl's coop. Nice, warm and dry. Hopefully these rains will pass soon

I can hear the thunder coming in from the west. I'm sure glad I got the tarp strapped back up over the back of the banty coop today. I had to turn it loose to change net covers on the pens and just never got around to putting it back up.

I just heard the rain start. I have some plastic over my banty coop. I hope it's enough to keep the chicks dry tonight with the wind. I need to invest in a good tarp.

I have 43 eggs in the bator due to hatch on the 5th. I am just tryin got get a feel for it and I don't think I did a very good job. If any of these eggs hatch I will be very

. These are just a barnyard mix. I am going to get my Marans penned up then I should have some pure breeds in a few months. If by chance they all do hatch then I will be giving away free chicks. I maysend them out instead of christmas cards.
