Arkansas folks speak up.........

Our backyard is pretty crazy too. Lots of chickens and ducks running around. It's really funny when our little black Scottie dog is out there. There is a blue muscovy female who thinks he is her boyfriend. She wags her tail feathers at him and they walk around together. She preens him as well. Pretty funny all the stuff they do. We spend lots of time out there watching the antics as well

They slept just fine last night in the coop. I got up to check on them twice. When I let them out this morning they came right out. I will see if they will go in by themselves tonight. Me and my DH gave them the names we had picked out for out childern! LOL

Talk about a cold, wet day. Yuck!! I felt bad for my chickens, their feathers were drooping cause they were all dripping wet. Popcorn, my lil Silkie, looked really pathetic. We were very thankful for our cozy little house today.

Tomorrow is HATCH day!

Fingers crossed please!!

Mine didn't seem to mind the rain.
Funny story though

I sorta halfway wake up and work was cancelled today so I decided to sleep in.
I get half way back asleep and my rooster starts his alarm call.
What the heck could be bothering the chickens - they're in the yard, hmmm maybe it's a cat? DH goes out.
Yells at the roo to move.
Comes back in and says that the rooster was standing under the overhang of the house and when big water drops dripped on his back he was freaking out because he didn't know what was "getting" him!

^_^ Silly roo...the weather didn't seem to bother my hens too much. The night before I pulled out the blue tarp and fasten it down. Their bedding and everything was still dry and they are FINALLY using the coop! I didn't even have to put them to bed last night, but I did anyways. I think I will let them do it on their own tonight. I guess they figured it was warm and dry and hopfully a good place to lay eggs!
