Arkansas folks speak up.........

Yes, I am. At least I'm not adding bonnets and boots to them! Yet anyway. Can't you just picture a handsome Naked Neck manly rooster in a bonnet?

I decided I was Not going to buy TSC chicks this year and let my 2 broody girls do it. Well, my best friend brought me a Valentine gift on Saturday. I couldn't have just 2 , so I went to TSC yesterday and got 6 more to go with them.

Chicken math!!!
Lol. Actually I had thought about it but decided to stop after crossing the EE and NN to make the green Egger naked neck would be enough without the extra on them.
You have to know when to quit.

Got mostly ice main roads were scraped today and not too bad. Side and back roads did quite a bit of melting but is freezing back tonight. Wife staying home from work. Not taking any chances.

It will be a bug mess in the morning, but a little Warner so may have better roads tomorrow.

Need a little help. I've got 4 duck eggs trying to hatch since lady night/this morning. We've been without power ALL day. I've had them by the gas stove but no way to really monitor humidity. This is my first batch of ducks to make it this far. When do I know to help? I know they are slower than chicks and the duck egg shell is tougher. I'm keep nada a wreck here.

Sorry I've never hatched ducks myself. My brother used to and never had a lot of luck with an incubator hatching them.. He just waited until a duck or muscovey decided to sit. They're usually great mothers even to baby chicks, but have been known to squish chicks.

My first attempt sucked. Lost all of them. This time I've made it to day 26 and two have pipped internally and externally. However we are doing this with no electricity.

If even these two babies are successful, shouldn't I earn some BYC street cred or something. Lol!
